- Candidates should successfully proof completion of basic operating skills test within the last 12 months
- Candidates should have experience as a counterbalance lift truck operator for at least minimum 6 months
- Candidates need to have good communication skills (Verbal and Written)
- Candidate should have confidence to deliver or present training to a small or large group (Full training provided)
For candidates to successfully pass the Instructor level course will need to pass an examination consisting the following three elements.
- Basic operating skills test on a counterbalance lift truck and pass to instructor’s standard on the first day of the course (maximum 25 penalties allowed). This test also requires the candidate to undertake both the Associated Knowledge element of the Operator test and the Pre-Use Inspection test. (A suitable period of truck familiarisation will be provided prior to the tests being conducted)
- Associated Knowledge, multiple choice theory paper (Pass mark is 80%)
- Practical Instructional Ability, deliver a session of no more than 40 minutes in length covering a basic operating skill (Pass mark is 70 out of a possible 100)
