Forklift eTruck eLearning Course (eTruck UK)
Please note that, RTITB has revised the prerequisites for participating in its Lift Truck Forklift Instructor course. Candidates must provide proof of successful completion of the full eTruck eLearning course (eTruck UK) within 36 months of the course start date.
If you don’t have this yet, you can purchase the eLearning course from 4KS Forklift Training when you enrol for the forklift instructor course.
The eTruck eLearning Course, offered by RTITB, is a unique digital storytelling tool that enhances training effectiveness, allowing candidates to complete theory training online at their own pace before practical forklift training.

This course is aimed at Instructors who have failed one or two elements of the RTITB Examination.
We are positive that our qualified instructors will get you over the line given the successful 98% pass rate our training centre has.
On completing the RTITB Forklift Instructor Course, candidates will:
- Demonstrate their instructional ability to conduct practical lessons using appropriate practical instructional skills
- Demonstrate their instructional ability to conduct in-class lessons using appropriate classroom instructional skills
- Discuss their associated knowledge of health and safety, legislation, instructional skills, candidate selection and practical skills testing
- Prepare, schedule and deliver an appropriate operator training course, working independently under workplace environment conditions
- Prepare, set up and conduct a Basic Operating Skills Test
- Follow administration and documentation procedures appropriate to running an operator training course.
Here is a list of eligibility requirements for participating in the RTITB forklift instructor course:
- Candidates should provide evidence of having completed a Counterbalance course of basic operating skills test within the last 12 months
- Proof of successful completion of the full eTruck eLearning course (eTruck UK) within 36 months of the course
start date. - Candidates should have experience as a Counterbalance lift truck operator for at least minimum 6 months
- Candidates need to have good communication skills (Verbal and Written)
- Candidate should have confidence to deliver or present training to a small or large group (Full training provided)

- Health and safety
- Relevant regulations
- Approved Code of Practice (ACOP)
- Instructor role and qualities
- Basic principles of instruction
- Skill and task analysis
- Lesson structure (practical)
- Lesson structure (theory)
- Report writing
- Visual aids
- Lift truck operator examination
- Course administration
To successfully pass the RTITB Forklift Instructor level course, candidates will need to pass an examination consisting the following elements.
- Basic operating skills test on a counterbalance lift truck and pass to instructor’s standard on the first day of the course (maximum 25 penalties allowed). This test also requires the candidate to undertake both the Associated Knowledge element of the Operator test and the Pre-Use Inspection test. (A suitable period of truck familiarisation will be provided prior to the tests being conducted)
- In-class Lesson Delivery Test (assessed during course)
- Associated Knowledge Test (assessed during course)
- Practical Instructional Ability Test (assessed on examination day)
- Professional Discussion (assessed on examination day)
