Very Narrow Aisle (VNA Training) Course Overview
A VNA’s primary function is to transfer and deposit loads to and from high density racking systems. However, it would be impossible for this Basic training course to encompass all possible tasks and lift configurations. It is the responsibility of the employer to ensure that planning and training account for the complexity of the task at hand and equipment to be used. This highlights the necessity for Specific Job and Familiarisation training, which may vary significantly from situation to situation.
The Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) lift truck operator course will give you the skills to operate the truck safely and efficiently, carry out a pre-use inspection, and recall and explain the causes of truck and load instability. There are two categories of VNA truck – man-up and man-down. The completion of the man-up operator course will equip you to operate both machine types.
This course covers, but is not limited to, the following areas;
- An introduction to the truck
- Driving the truck (including narrow aisles under automatic guidance)
- Laden and unladed maneuvering
- Operation of the hydraulics
- Battery care and maintenance
- Picking up and setting down
- Loading with the man-up function
- Handling awkward loads
Course Duration Man Up/Man Down (up to 3 people):
- Novice candidate: 3-5 days
- Experienced (but untrained) candidate: 3-4 days
- Refresher (recommended every 3 years) candidate: 1 day
- Conversion candidate:1 day
3:1:1 (3 trainees: 1 instructor: 1 truck)
